WHY I’M NOT ENDORSING THE PIT-HAIR MOVEMENT (NSFW)

So what is it about pit hair making headlines? Everyone these days esp. celebrities seem to be flaunting their pit hair, the long and short of it. Oh and dyed ones too.

So I’m all for freedom and liberty of women and eff-you to society et al but this seems to be taking things a little too far. I completely get the idea of women expressing themselves but compromising on your own hygiene to protest? Moreover, with attention getting completely drawn away from the core issue which is equality for women, I see it as a protest gone waste. And I also see it as a serious hygiene issue.

I’m sure women are not doing it to save time. It takes a few seconds to shave. So you’re not into shaving? Well, waxing takes not longer than shaving or maybe a few seconds more to prep up. I mean you dont have to wax or shave your pits everyday but then growing them out is a different matter altogether.

And its not just for women. My personal belief is that even men should shave their pits regularly. I would be totally and equally grossed out at the sight of a man with unkempt pit hair. Its a matter of pure hygiene and grooming. Remember hair traps odor? I’m sure a lot of people will say its a matter of personal choice and ‘To each their own’, etc. but staying unkempt is not a very intelligent choice, you see? The important thing is to not succumb to societal maintenance in the name of grooming and using too many beauty products as they with their chemicals damage our bodies in the long run. But just keep yourselves groomed, ladies & gentlmen. Thats all.

As for me, I will continue to shave not because of what society expects of me as a woman, but because of my own personal preferences to feel clean, smooth and sexy.
