I am always on the prowl for new stores and interesting merchandise/designs...even when not working...call it professional hazard if you must :)
In the course, I come across a lot of inspiring people and their work, interesting stores, off-beat decor, unconventional designs...
Talking of inspirational work, Sabbah Sharma, who started as one of the NextGen designers showcasing her collection at the Lakme Fashion Week early 2009, has grown into one of the edgiest designers on the block. She has some amazing designs to her credit and is the owner of the pret label named after her.
I found some very interesting high-waist-legged linen trousers, short-length skirts, tops, jumpsuits, some-formal jackets, waist coats and scarves in her current collection.
Sabbah designs women's attire (pret meaning ready to wear) western separates, dresses and footwear. Her designs are extremely chic, structured and elegant.
Her forte lies in combining the opposites...clean silhouette lines with a lot of fabric texturing, use of intense orange as 'flashes' with the classy grey and seemingly simple outfits yet extremely strong in character.
Sabbah's clothes range from formal to semi-formal. They are mostly wovens made out of natural fabrics like cottons, linens and silks. What I like most about her designs is that they are 'to-the-point', there is nothing frilly or pretentious about them. Her choice of colours is subtle yet classy and the designs extremely trendy yet with a distinct individuality of their own. Finishing of the clothes as well as footwears is immaculate.
Her outfits range from Rs.4000 onwards and the footwear designs range between Rs.3000 to Rs.5500.
In addition to garments and footwear, Sabbah also stocks jewelery and bags of various other designers like Half-Full, Nyesa, Amrita Hans, Ritika Sachdeva and Princess K.
Her flagship store is located at 7 - 28/29 Janki Kutir, Behind Prithvi Theatre, Juhu, Mumbai.
She also stocks at:
